RESCON 2003 Safety Group

The RESCON Safety Group was formed in 2003. The Safety Group program is a Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) initiative aimed at improving health and safety at the workplace by rewarding businesses that implement prevention elements into their management systems. For 2003, the RESCON Safety Group received a $4.15 million rebate – the largest ever in the history of the program. The rebate represents almost 14% of the premiums paid by participating firms, over and above any rebate or surcharge received under CAD-7.

Membership in the RESCON Safety Group is open to both builders and sub-trades. However, if you are a builder you must be a member of RESCON. Currently there are more than 80 employers registered in the program covering approximately 6000 employees. The RESCON Safety Group is composed of employers from the following areas of work: builders, low rise forming, sheet metal, concrete & drain, masonry, high rise forming, trim carpentry, framing, and roofing.
